Helping member churches make disciples of Jesus Christ

Who are they ?
Scapegoat
is a Christian Rock Band from Binghamton, NY.
We are a ministry that desires to see the youth of our generation stand for the cause of Christ. The purpose of our band is to compile good solid music with lyrics that are hard hitting and unashamed of the Gospel in order to reach as many of our generation as possible.
Our battle cry mimics the words of the Apostle Paul found in the New Testament where Paul informs his readers that in every circumstance he becomes all things to all men in order that he might save some (1 Corinthians 9.22).
In the same way, in such a diverse and ever changing society, we as a band seek to do all that we can in order that the Gospel is preached in its entirety and that our listeners walk away with the greatest message known to man which is that Christ has the power and authority to forgive sin and impute His righteousness unto us to make us children of God.

It is interesting that the word Scapegoat is a term that is used in the book of Leviticus 16.26. The English definition of a “Scapegoat” is one who takes on or bears the blame undeservingly; meaning that the one who is taking the blame upon themselves is in reality innocent. In the Old Testament we have given to us a picture of a goat that was sent out of the camp of the Israelites with the sins of the people prayed upon it. This served as a symbol or depiction of the removal of sin from the nation of Israel by using the “Scapegoat” to take the sins away from or out of the camp. This symbol for the removal of sin was later demonstrated in the New Testament when Christ took center stage and bore the sin of the entire world upon His shoulders in a sense becoming our “Scapegoat”. Scripture says that “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him,” speaking of none other than Christ Himself (2 Corinthians 5.21).
