Lay Studies Course

Living Waters Association Fall Lay Studies Worship Course Begins Sept. 19th

The Living Waters Association Lay Studies Course on "Worship" will begin on Saturday, September 19th, meeting from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Waverly (23 Tioga Street) with Pastor J. Steven Reynolds as the instructor. The course will meet on ten Saturday mornings. The course is designed to help students examine the topic of worship from a variety of perspectives ranging from traditional to contemporary. Pastor Reynolds is well-qualified to teach this course based on his years of experience of ministry as well as extensive acquaintance with the contemporary Christian music scene.

Textbooks for the course include Who Stole My Church? by Goardon MacDonald (Thomas Nelson, 2008); and Perspectives on Christian Worship: Five Views, by J. Matthew Pinson (B. & H. Academic Books, 2009). Together the textbooks are estimated to cost about $31.00. Students should have the textbooks in hand when the course begins. Textbooks can be ordered through a favorite bookstore or through an online source.

The course costs $60.00 for "credit" in the ABCNYS Lay Studies program or $30.00 to audit. Students completing the course for "credit" may have a written project, paper, or assignment to complete. Checks, payable to the Living Waters Baptist Association, are due at the first class session.
